We put a human on the moon 3 years before we put wheels on suitcases.

In 1969, Neil Armstrong rode a 6-million-pound rocket through the vacuum of space at over 25,000 miles per hour and became the first human to set foot on the moon.

But when he left his house that morning, before the biggest moment of his life, he still had to carry his suitcase. Wheeled suitcases weren’t invented until 1972.

Humans love moonshots. We chase breakthroughs. We obsess over the big, the bold, the impossible.

We look up.

But sometimes great ideas are hiding right in front of our faces.

So adjust your vision every once in a while. 

Look up, yes. Dream big, absolutely. 

But also look down. Look around. 

You might just spot the idea that everyone missed.

Some of the most successful startups did exactly that.

Airbnb noticed an empty mattress.

Uber noticed a car sitting idle.

DoorDash noticed a restaurant with no drivers.

Tiny annoyances. Quiet problems. Hidden opportunities.

Grand visions are great.
